Important information about Coronavirus (COVID-19)

An outbreak can happen in any community whether in Darwin, the rural area or out bush. Coronavirus remains a risk and outbreaks can be very serious, especially for those of us who have other health issues.

The best way to keep safe and well is to get vaccinated and:
•    Wash hands with soap or hand sanitiser often
•    Cover your cough and sneeze
•    Keep a safe distance from other people – 1.5 metres apart
•    See your GP for your regular health check

What is Coronavirus (COVID-19):
•    It is a disease caused by a new virus, like having the flu or a cold.
•    It is mainly spread person-to-person.
•    It is a serious illness and some people may have to go to hospital.

Signs and symptoms:
• Cough, sore throat, running nose, tiredness or fever (high temperature).
• Symptoms can be very mild or more severe.
• Some people who have Coronavirus have no symptoms but can still infect others.
