Important vaccinations for developing babies

Infectious diseases can impact us all, but for bubs and young ones, the impact can be really serious. Vaccinations are a quick and easy way to protect against infectious diseases – and you can get the process started while you’re pregnant!

Safe vaccinations during pregnancy

To give your bub the best start in life, it’s a good idea to get vaccinated against a range of infectious diseases while you’re pregnant. These include:
  • Whooping cough (pertussis)
  • Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
  • Influenza (flu vax)
  • COVID-19

The antibodies you receive from these vaccinations will transfer to your developing baby and protect them until their first childhood immunisations are due (from six weeks old).

The childhood immunisation schedule

Once your baby is born, it’s important to keep the protection going by getting all their vaccines at the right times. You can book all these in at your local Danila Dilba clinic ahead of time, so none get missed!
