Clearing Heavy Energy from our Workspaces
In the second week of February 2026, Danila Dilba began a series of planned Smoking Ceremonies at our clinics and offices. Malak Clinic was the first DDHS site to have the ceremony, with Darwin Clinic, the Binyolkga Centre and the Vai Stanton Building to follow.
Our clinics and offices hold the weight of difficult stories – sickness, trauma and grief – alongside hope and healing. Over time, this accumulates. Smoking Ceremonies function as a spiritual reset, clearing heavy energy from our spaces and allowing us to let go of old stress, walking forward with clear heads and lighter hearts.
We operate on Larrakia Country, and maintaining the spiritual health of our workspace is integral to the holistic care we provide. For our clients, the smell of smoke can signal a culturally safe environment where they are seen, heard and respected. This is something we want for all of our clients – it is why we run our services and programs and do the work that we do.
Throughout the month of February, Danila Dilba will be working with Larrakia practitioners from Larrakia Nation to conduct Smoking Ceremonies at all our sites. We look forward to these spaces being cleansed and settled.
