A Moment for Our AHPs and AHP Trainees
Today we honour our deadly Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs) and AHP Trainees – the backbone of our health service since the very beginning.
Danila Dilba AHPs have always been the first point of contact for clients. Since 1991, they have made clients feel culturally safe and provided a high level of care, setting our health service apart.
Today, our AHPs work across all DDHS clinics, and many have gone on to hold leadership positions within the organisation, from Team Leader roles to Clinic Managers and even the Executive Management Team.
We’re also extremely lucky to have a large and enthusiastic group of AHP Trainees at Danila Dilba – all keen to follow in the footsteps of those who’ve gone before them, enhancing our service by supporting the rest of our organisation to deliver continuous, respectful care.
The theme for this year’s National Day of Recognition for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners is ‘Partnering for Purpose’ – focusing on how genuine collaboration drives meaningful change.
At Danila Dilba, we’re proud to say that our AHPs and AHP Trainees already help us partner for purpose – we’re so lucky to have each and every one of them and wish them the very best day!
