Job description

Drive the project planning and change management of the DDHS Service Model Implementation Project and to undertake priority project work under the project. 

WHO ARE WE?

Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service (DDHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation committed to providing culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care services and community development within the Biluru (Aboriginal) community of the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region in the Northern Territory.

We work to address the social determinants of health including the broader issues that affect our people’s health, through evidence-based research and public advocacy. We also work to empower individuals, families, and communities to optimise their health.

WHAT WILL YOU FOCUS ON?

The Project Manager will work with DDHS frameworks to drive the project planning and change management of the DDHS Service Model Implementation Project and to undertake priority project work under the project. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and oversee implementation of a detailed project plan and change management. plan to facilitate progressive implementation of the DDHS Service Model by 30 June 2026. 
  • Ensure clinical, operational, cultural, and financial considerations are addressed.
  • Lead the preparation of advice to the EMT and the Board on progress, challenges and adjustments required to the plans and on change management strategies. 
  • Advise EMT and individual executives on clinical and operational issues arising from the service model.
  • Oversee and monitor the individual work packages and provide support as necessary including in the development of detailed activity plans. 
  • Undertake project work in relation to priority work packages and tasks as directed.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as necessary. 
  • Lead the development of an evaluation framework to allow measurement of impact of the implementation process.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Awareness and understanding of DDHS strategic plan. 
  • Contribute to developing and implementing strategies to meeting goals set towards providing high quality, comprehensive administrative support.

  • Complete and participate in regular formal and informal performance feedback and improvement sessions. 
  • Demonstrate responsibility for own development through participation in all learning opportunities.  
  • Actively model DDHS’ Code of Conduct Policy and demonstrate appropriate and professional workplace behaviours, help team members as required and undertake other key responsibilities or activities as reasonably directed. 

Communication and Teamwork  

  • Effectively communicate with a multidisciplinary team including clients and external service providers to ensure effective implementation and change management. 
  • Maintain a positive work environment along with harmonious and cooperative relationships with all employees, and clients. 
  • Be responsible to maintaining your own professional work ethics and participate in staff meetings.  

Safe Practice and Environment 

  • Conduct all activities in a manner consistent with national health accreditation standards, DDHS Occupational (Work) Health and Safety Policy and procedures. 
  • Proactively address WH&S hazards, incidents, and injuries. 

Quality  

  • Identify and make recommendations on opportunities to improve processes, quality, and service delivery outcomes.  
  • Participate in the development of quality procedures and contribute to internal and external program reviews as required.  
  • Implement/follow the DDHS incident and complaint investigation policies. 

Information Management  

  • Ensure accurate documentation of information in a timely manner.  

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Demonstrated understanding of the primary health care environment and the opportunities and challenges in clinical and operational change implementation in that environment.  
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and implementation and the use of relevant software. 
  • Demonstrated experience in change management in complex projects. 
  • High level of administrative and organisational skills including experience managing workloads within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people and stakeholders across a range of cultures and professions. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills with an ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Ability to work independently with strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks to deliver outcomes within tight timelines. 
  • Demonstrated high level computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Project. 

Desirable

  • Experience in working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or similar complex environment. 
  • Qualifications in project management and/or change management.
