Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service is a community organisation providing comprehensive primary health care to Biluru communities in the Yilli Rreung Region of the Northern Territory. We aim to improve the physical, mental, spiritual, cultural and social wellbeing of our clients through innovative comprehensive programs based on principles of equity, access, empowerment, determination and collaboration.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Advocate for better health outcomes for child/ren and youth
  • Provide advice about healthy lifestyles e.g. nutrition and physical activity, alcohol consumption and smoking intervention
  • Provide early intervention, coordinated care and information and referral services
  • Participate in cross-cultural education as well as assist and participate in staff induction and orientation
  • Be responsible for your professional development by attending relevant workshops and in-services and self-auditing to maintain professional development as required.
  • Maintain client file notes and medical histories in our PIRS system

Are you the right person?

  • You will have current registration as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner with AHPRA
  • You are experienced in working in a clinical practice environment with the ability to interact with a variety of medical practitioners
  • You demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to liaise with people from different cultures and social backgrounds
  • You work well independently and as a member of a team, with strong organisational skills, and the ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks
  • You possess strong written skills and feel comfortable in preparing correspondence and documents
  • You have experience using and reporting with clinical practice software
