About the Role:

The Podiatrist provides services to clients eligible under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). The role is underpinned by the CHSP wellness approach, working with clients to maximise functional independence and ability to participate and remain living in the community. The Podiatrist works in a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality, culturally safe services that meet the needs of Danila Dilba clients, with a focus on chronic diseases.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal community control and self-determination.

  • Tertiary qualification in Podiatry with current AHPRA registration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing a broad range of acute and chronic foot conditions.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the primary health care context, principles of chronic disease prevention and management and goal-directed care planning.
  • Understanding of the issues and barriers that affect the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong client focus and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with other health professionals and agencies.
  • Demonstrated competence in e-health record systems and office software applications.
  • High level written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector.

  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.
