We have a great opportunity for a dedicated and experienced people leader to join our Darwin City Clinic as our Clinic Manager.

Take on this important role to assist in improving the health and wellbeing of Indigenous Australians by reaching out to the community and promoting better health choices.

Established in 1991, Danila Dilba Health Service is a community organisation providing comprehensive primary health care to Biluru (Aboriginal) communities in the Yilli Rreung (Greater Darwin) Region of the Northern Territory. We aim to improve the physical, mental, spiritual, cultural, and social wellbeing of our clients through innovative comprehensive primary health care programs and services.

WHAT WILL YOU FOCUS ON

Leading a diverse medium sized city clinic, consisting of both clinical and non-clinical team member you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of quality, culturally sensitive, primary health care clinical service programs aimed at improving the health status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents of the greater Darwin Region.

No day will be the same in this busy role and there will be endless opportunities to apply your experience to continuous improvement, implementation of a Model of Care and drive the focus on managing chronic disease. A full position description is available by clicking MORE INFO & APPLY HERE.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Leadership experience in a Primary Health Care context with a focus on Chronic Disease Management.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring to be able to motivate and engage.
  • The ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner or Registered Nurse.
  • Proven clinical competence in a clinical practice environment.
  • Proven communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to work constructively with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of Aboriginal health issues and understanding of Aboriginal history, culture and aspirations and the role of community-controlled health organisations.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Aboriginal) applicants will be granted priority consideration for this vacancy.
