About the Role:
Our deadly podiatrist will provide services to clients eligible under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and mainstream services. The role is underpinned by the CHSP wellness approach, working with clients to maximise functional independence and ability to participate and remain living in the community. The podiatrist works in a multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality, culturally safe services that meet the needs of Danila Dilba clients, with a focus on chronic diseases.
What You Need to Succeed
- Understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal community control and self-determination.
- Tertiary qualification in podiatry with current AHPRA registration.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability in managing a broad range of acute and chronic foot conditions.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Clear understanding of scope of practice.
- Demonstrated understanding of the primary health care context, principles of chronic disease prevention and management and goal-directed care planning.
- Understanding of the issues and barriers that affect the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong client focus and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with other health professionals and agencies.
- High level written and oral communication skills.
