About the Role:

The SEWB Support Worker will work in partnership with their multidisciplinary team to support Adults to improve their social and emotional well-being. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering holistic health services and provide culturally safe and trauma informed support that promotes wellbeing and links Adults with the SEWB support they need. The SEWB Support Worker is expected to provide information, education, advocacy, assessments, and brief interventions to encourage and support client’s wellbeing. The SEWB Support Worker will also facilitate group sessions that empower and support Community and promote mental health.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Identify as Aboriginal

  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous people and the ability to communicate effectively and in a culturally appropriately manner.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current issues, standards, and trends in the delivery of mental health and social and emotional wellbeing services to Aboriginal people.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history and knowledge of issues impacting on Aboriginal children and families, youth, and adults and those affected by Stolen Generations’ policies and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within and maintain strict confidentiality guidelines and policies.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds to both obtain and convey information relevant to their care.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients, carers, and other professionals from diverse cultures.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, with an ability to plan, manage and prioritise tasks and resources to deliver outcomes within time and budget considerations.
  • Proficiency in and commitment to the use of electronic information systems for the maintenance of clinical and service delivery records.

Danila Dilba offers employees:

  • 6-weeks annual leave per annum (pro-rata)
